Co-curricular - SPGS International

Co-curricular

St Paul’s has a global reputation for academic excellence but also places great emphasis on co-curricular activities which provide students with a rounded and fulfilling school experience. Whether these activities are sporting, artistic or philanthropic, all children are encouraged to develop different aspects of their characters and to shine outside of the classroom as well as within. Our co-curricular programme also plays an important part in how children develop as members of our close-knit community and many friendships and social bonds are based upon these shared interests.

Our exceptional co-curricular programme is integral to the academic and social experience at the school. It forms a fundamental part of the student’s learning journey.

Through the opportunities we offer to enjoyably discover and develop new interests, students will find themselves acquiring new passions that can last a lifetime. These not only offer personal fulfillment but will also turn them into more thoughtful and engaged students and citizens. This rich experience will mark them out from others at university and in their careers.

  • Given the important role they play, all our students are required to take part in the co-curricular activities at the end of lessons every afternoon. There are also optional activities at lunchtime each day.

Students are warmly encouraged to initiate or lead clubs and societies. They will be given full support to organise discussions, competitions, and publications.

School organised clubs, societies and activities include programmes in literature, maths, computing, science, economics, young entrepreneurs, sports, art, music, dance, design, debating, geography, film, and international affairs.

The music programme includes orchestras, chamber ensembles, and choirs, all operating at a range of ability and performance levels. Students can share their achievements with internal and external audiences in concerts, plays and musicals. There will be drama performances every term and the opportunity to access LAMDA qualifications in speech and drama.

There are many community engagements, including environmental action and charity groups working at home or further afield, all designed to build social engagement, empathy and global citizenship.

The co-curricular programe is supported by a full range of day and residential trips, both domestically and overseas. Trips will take place to neighbouring countries as well as further afield, such as to the UK for senior students to collaborate on projects, build ties with SPGS in London and familiarize themselves with UK universities.
